South Korea, a country made well-known for the increase popularity of Korean pop culture such as K-drama and variety shows. Korea is undeniably one of the famous tourist spot in recent years, be it for culture experiencing, sightseeing, and not to forget shopping for the latest trend and fashions. But, apart from those aforementioned reasons, South Korea also has many awesome amusement and theme parks are also some of the must visit tourist spots. In fact, some of the parks are also the world’s best attractions and parks! Here are some parks that we’ve compiled for you:
Lotte World is a major recreation complex in Sincheon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul that is made up of two main sections, the outdoor amusement park Magic Island, and also the world largest indoor theme park, the Adventure.
The theme park is filled with thrilling rides, ice skating rink, folk museum, as well as a lake and a department stores.
The highlight of the park is undeniably the indoor Lotte World Adventure, where you can watch parades, films, laser shows, and taste a variety of international cuisines all year round!

Seoul Land first opened in May 1988 in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, as the first amusement theme park in Korea.
The park is sectioned and themed into five areas: The World Plaza which contains the children’s Kids Land and the arcade center Game World.
The second area is the Adventure Land which are themed around adventure, and is where most of the water themed rides are located.
The third area is the Fantasy Land themed around fairy tales and fantasies. This place is also where you can find most famous South Korean cartoons themed rides, like Larva, Canimals, and Tobots.
Tomorrow Land is the futuristic themed area where most extreme rides are located. The park’s prized ride Black Hole 2000 roller coaster can be find in this area.
And finally the Samchulli (Thousand-Mile) Hill is the area equipped with various performance facilities where you can see and experience the tradition and authentic Korea.
The park prides for its wide selection of seasonal festivals and a unique Laser Show held during the evening.
In addition, the park, together with the Seoul Grand Park, and the National Modern and Contemporary Art are all located in the Seoul Grand Park complex.

The Seoul COEX Aquarium is one of South Korea’s largest aquariums located in Gangnam, Seoul. The aquarium comprises of 183 display tanks and 90 breeding tanks with 3,500 tons of water volume, and houses 40,000 sea creatures of different species divided into 14 “discovery zones” including six themed areas.
Visitors follow a preset path through the aquarium, experiencing each of the themed areas in turn. Aside from exhibits featuring dedicated aquarium tanks with fish indigenous to the theme location, other local animals like birds, otters, and other appropriate vegetation is also included in the exhibits.
The aquarium also has an undersea tunnel exhibit where sharks and sea turtles can be seen swimming around in all directions.
There’s also a Penguin’s Playground where visitors can find penguins playing and chilling in the area.

Located in Haeundae Beach, Sea Life Busan Aquarium housed over 250 different species of fish, algae, reptiles, and amphibians for total of over 10,000.
The aquarium is notable for its 80 metre underwater tunnel, where visitors can experience a walk along the ocean floor with various sea creatures swimming above.
If walking around discovering and admiring the different sea creatures is not enough, there is also feeding show of different creatures at different hour that visitors can visit and try out to have a hands on interaction with the creatures!

Crowned as South Korea’s largest theme park, Everland is located at the Everland Resort in Yongin, Gteonggi-do. The park is sectioned into 5 unique theme zones, which are Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land, European Adventure, and Zootopia.
Global Fair is situated right at the entrance of the park. The primary place for food, souvenirs and pictures, this place is where pleasant and cheerful music is played along streets lined with beautiful architectural features from different parts of the world.
As the name implies, American Adventure themes from American history, starting from the discovery of the American continent, and progressing through time to the youth culture revival and the spread of Rock and Roll.
Magic Land is filled with an elaborate array of buildings and rides themed around fairy tales such as Aesop fables.
European Adventure, again, as the name suggest, is built to imitate the appearances of European town and is filled with fragrant flowers all year round.
And finally, Zootopia is an animal-themed portion, where every creature lives and breathes the natural air. This area is also the home for a pair of giant pandas given from Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Caribbean Bay is a part of the Everland Resort, however it is an indoor/outdoor water park and requires a separate admission fee. Not only you get to enjoy swimming and water amusement rides, but you can also relax in hot spring water all year round.
Designed with a Caribbean theme, the park has unique features from both European and American culture, and is sectioned into five areas: The Aquatic Center, which is an Indoor Waterpark zone that also includes a beauty zone, sauna, and hot springs.
The Sea Wave that is famous for its large, highest outside wave pool that generates a 2.4 metre high artificial waves.
The Bay Slide is the zone for water slides for thrilling and chilling speed slides.
The Fortress housed a giant castle, and it also has the world’s longest streaming pool called the “Lazy Pool”.
Lastly the Wild River is an extreme water play zone where the main attractions are its 5 tube slides.

The Running Man Thematic Experience Center is a fairly new activity center opened on November 3, 2017. The center is located at SM Duty Free Shop, Jongro-gu, Seoul. As the name suggest, the center is based on South Korea’s popular variety show Running Man, where visitors can experience the thrills and spills as seen in the show recreated at this center.
Visitors have 60 minutes to seek treasures and R coins through experiences zones based on the series’ most popular episodes, and completing missions planted at different places in a race format.
Visitors that managed to collect more than 80 points will be awarded a certificate and gift too! Otherwise you are still given a Running Man badge as a souvenir!
