Thailand is a shopping paradise. Beside visiting the temple, it is consider as a shopping trip! 😂I have prepared a bunch of Thai baht before depart to Bangkok, Thailand so that can shop till you drop! 😍 This trip to Bangkok, Thailand included 4 peeps because it is also more convenient for grab services along the trip!

฿ Exchange rate:

THB 100 = RM12.32 (July 2018)

- Mineral Water / Thailand Bentagen Yogurt ฿10 = RM1.2

-Chocolate Banana Pocky ฿12 = RM1.5

Expenses RM (per person):

Airfare - RM89+139.9=RM228.9 (baggage back 5kg=RM13+ plane meal RM10)

Communication + Network - RM9 (RM36/4)

Accommodation - RM300

Transportation - RM80 (฿2600/4)

Tickets - RM95 (RM28+฿40+฿500)

Eat and drink - RM240

Total cost - RM980 (does not include personal expenses)

✈️Air ticket:

AirAsia has a direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok and only takes 2 hours. There are about 10 round trips in a day, so it is not a problem fly to Bangkok by AirAsia. Survey and wait for the promo tickets ~ (My flight ticket costs RM89+RM140=RM230 round trip not include baggage fees)

If it is a 5D4N trip like me, you no need to buy extra luggage (after all, AirAsia has 7kg hand luggage), it is better to buy extra luggage when back because you will buy a lot of stuffs. 😂 But also depends on your expenses.

Reminder: There are two airports in Bangkok. The airport used by AirAsia is Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport (DMK).

You can get a visa for 30 days without a visa in Malaysia, so you can take your passport directly if you travel for less than 30 days. The Malaysian passport is super easy to use! Yeah✌

🌞Weather:

Thailand's weather is hot all year and can be divided into three seasons :

March to May --> "hot season"

June to October --> "Rainy Season"

November to February--> "Cool season" (tourism season)

This Bangkok tour was in August. The weather is generally hot. It was not as hot as Malaysia. It rained for two days in five days. I didn’t manage to finish visit all the temples on the third day. I recommend to wear short sleeves. But remember to wear a collar shirt and trousers when you visit the Grand Palace.

📞Sim Card :

The SIM card in Thailand is not expensive. You can see many telecom companies selling at the airport. I bought the 4G network card (Happy Tourist Sim). The sim card can be used for up to 8 days, high-speed data up to 3GB, and also includes ฿100 call recharge (about 30 minutes of talk time).

Personal experience: We bought 2 internet cards RM18x2=RM36 for 4 people (I don’t think everyone has to buy sim card, 2 sim cards is enough for 4 people, most of the time data are just use for the grab service ). In front the Gate 2 of the Don Mueang Airport Hall (next to 7-11), as long as you show your receipt and phone number to the staff, he will install and activate it directly for you, which is very convenient.

🏡 Accommodation:

Four nights stay at Family Hub @ Pratunam 4 in the heart of Pratunam. 7-11 is just right in front of the stay! They provides good service attitude, and you can use whatsapp to communicate with the owner which is very convenient. There is also a 50-inch smart TV in the room to watch NETFLIX! Recommendation point : 4.5/5!

Airbnb Hostel Information: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/23379781

I suggest to find a hotel in the Pratunam area because Pratunam is a very lively area. Whether it is in the morning or late night, there are hawkers selling a lots of things like food or clothes, and the price is very cheap.

🚙 Traffic:

Public transport in Bangkok is quite developed, and you can go anywhere by bus or subway. But I don't know Thai so it is better not to take a bus. (I saw the local bus on the road is wothout window which seems a bit scary) ; subway, if 1-2 people you can consider take the subway which is cheaper, and for 3-4 people can call the taxi or grab directly! I personally did not have a rabbit card, because I did not think to take the subway. I have calculated that the price of four people taking the subway is almost the same as the price of the grab, and sometimes it is cheaper than the subway! (For example, go to Chatuchak Weekend Market by the BTS from my hotel to Mo Chit station ฿37x4=฿148, and the grab is only ฿158, ฿10 difference = RM1.2, so is it better to call the grab right?)

The reason why I choose grab compared to the taxi is because after all, we are not familiar with the Thai language. It is a bit inconvenient to communicate with the taxi driver. The most important thing is the price of the grab is fixed, the price will be displayed on your app.

There is also a famous tuk-tuk car in Thailand! I was afraid of being cheated, so I didn’t take it all at once. (I read a lot of experiences that getting cheat!)

👇For friends that intend to take BTS can download the following Bangkok MRT route maps:

🌮Food and drinks:

Thai street food is a must try ~ Actually food in Thailand is quite cheap such as a string of pork skewers only costs ฿10. And here is a reminder! Not every hawker is as clean as you think! Especially for those beside the roadside, so it is better to observe the surrounding environment first!

Out of ideas where to eat? 7-11 can help you solve your problem! When you are in Thailand, you must not miss out to shop their 7-11.The food in 7-11 is the cleanest and of course the cheapest! 👍 In the morning, you can have a can of milk 🥛 and a slice of grilled sandwich; in the afternoon, have a hamburger with a soft drink, in the evening, have a lunch box; and also you can have a cup noodle for your supper tooo! 😂

👕 Shopping:

Thailand is definitely a shopping paradise! During these five days, I came and went to Chatuchak, Talad Neon, Riverside Night Market, Asiatique, The Platinum, Central World Central Mall and MBK Center.

The following rankings are for your reference :

1. Chatucha is best for shopping + the cheapest, must go! ;

2. Platinum is very good to go shopping, all of them are sold at wholesale prices, you must go also ;

3. The riverside night market is OK, it’s not bad, negotiable price;

4. The Central Mall walks and looks OK, it is a department store;

5. The Talad Neon may be raining so there is no store opening;

6. MBK Center is not a good place for shopping and it's very expensive, but there is free milk tea to drink🤣

As for the snacks,we all bought at Big C Supercenter but the price is not really that cheap (some even have the same price as 7-11), but it is more convenient because they sell a variety of snacks. There is everything there, and there is a place where you can put all your snacks in the box and send to the flight directly.

👍 Other tips:

1. Remember to bargain the price while you are buying something especially when you are in the morning market of Chatuchak, Pratunam or Asiatique! Especially Chatuchak! As long as you buy more, you can negotiate it. Like a dress ฿ 200, tell him ฿ 180, if he refuses to sell at ฿ 180 he will sell you at ฿ 190! come on! you can save ฿ 10!

2. No matter where you go, especially on the main road or at the gates of shopping malls, there will be a lot of tuk-tuk and taxi drivers beckoning you, asking if you want to take tuk-tuk or taxi. Don't be afraid, just shake your head and say no to them~

3. When you take a grab, the price will not be an integer for many times. It will be like ฿189 or ฿234 (why can't you make it 190/฿230?). If you give the money, don't expect the drivers to find the money (most of them will not find it), like ฿4, it will be used as a tip for them~ This is what we experienced, no Know if it is local habit...

4. Use your big money at 7-11 or in the shopping mall, because street vendors or grab drivers don't have the money to find you, so you can't give them big money.

5. You don't want to miss out the Thai show! Take note! You need to pay for the show after watching!They do charge for photos and not to mention that he will came to help you take pictures of yourself~ These are the experiences I read on the Internet, and I didn’t experience it because I’m so scared and run out of sight after the show is finished. The ladyboy will pull you at the exit door to take pictures with them! A little bit scary right? 😂

Still thinking about where is the cheapest country that you can travel around wothout tour? Don't think about it anymore! Bangkok, Thailand is definitely the place!

Hurry up and do some research to fly to Bangkok!

Bangkok is really a good place to travel with good food and best shopping experience!
