Tanah Lot
Tanah Lot Temple is one of Bali’s most important landmarks, famed for its unique offshore setting and sunset backdrops. An ancient Hindu shrine perched on top of an outcrop amidst constantly crashing waves; Tanah Lot Temple is simply among Bali’s not-to-be-missed icons.
The onshore site is dotted with smaller shrines alongside visitors’ leisure facilities that comprise restaurants, shops and a cultural park presenting regular dance performances. The temple is located in the Beraban village of the Tabanan regency, an approximate 20km northwest of Kuta, and is included on most tours to Bali’s western and central regions.

Potato Head Beach Club
Potato Head Beach Club is one of the most happening chill-out venues in Seminyak, joining the array of world-class hotspots that line this upscale, cosmopolitan coastal village. The venue is next door to the W Retreat, and its access from the main Jalan Petitenget road is similar to W’s, with a long and narrow lane that transports you to a world of drinks, dining and partying on a large lawn beachfront.
From the end of the driveway, you’ll see the quirky architecture of the beach club, particularly its trademark towering feature comprising a patchwork of old and worn teakwood window shutters. Designed by ‘cinematic’ architect Andra Matin, the signature structures and main venue resembles a stadium or coliseum, and the thin curved path into the beach club even makes you feel like a gladiator entering battle.

Blue Lagoon Cliff Jump
Blue Lagoon is located at the western tip of Nusa Ceningan, a tiny island connected to Nusa Lembongan by a wooden suspension bridge. Rumours abound that the bridge is frequently down but you just have to go and check for yourself. Scooter rental from Jungut Batu village on Lembongan is a mere $7 dollars for the day (no license required), or if you’re a gluten for punishment like myself you can hire a mountain bike and cycle the entire two islands for $2. It’s one of the best cycles I’ve done though and well worth it. (Bring plenty of water and sunscreen.)

Sanur
Sanur is a seaside town in the southeast of the island of Bali, in Indonesia. Its long stretch of beach offers shallow waters. Water Blow in Nusa Dua
Water Blow in Nusa Dua lets you witness the awesome power of nature as large waves from the Indian Ocean constantly crash against the jagged limestone edges on the peninsula’s south-eastern cliff. You can easily reach this purpose-built lookout along paved footpaths on the southern half of the ‘twin islands’. Here you’ll find 240 degrees of dramatic seascape, with the irregular splashes and sprays simply adding to the fun of it.
An arch reading ‘Water Blow’ overhead leads you to the site, and a stone slab cautions visitors with inscriptions that read, “Strong Currents”, “Sudden Drop Off”, “Dangerous Shorebreak”, “Slippery Rocks”, “High Surf” and “Sharp Coral” along the way. Indeed, the crashing waves can reach up to several metres high. The lookout is a circular cement stage bordered by guardrails. It is built with a large stone in the middle with benches where you can take a seat and wait for each wave.

Tegallalang Rice Terraces
Tegallalang Rice Terraces in Ubud is famous for its beautiful scenes of rice paddies involving the subak (traditional Balinese cooperative irrigation system), which according to history, was passed down by a revered holy man named Rsi Markandeya in the eighth century. Tegallalang forms the three most splendid terraced landscapes in Ubud's shared region, with the others being in the villages of Pejeng and Campuhan.
Tegallang alone has an outlook that spreads down before you and away to the rice terraces on the slopes across the valley. The high roadside location is cool and breezy and it is a well-known spot for tourists to stop and take photos. Painters and nature lovers also enjoy visiting this spot, and there are numerous art kiosks and cafes near the ledge offering their ware.

Ubud Traditional Art Market
The Ubud Art Market, locally referred to as 'Pasar Seni Ubud' is located opposite the the Puri Saren Royal Ubud Palace and is open daily. Here you can find beautiful silk scarves, lightweight shirts, handmade woven bags, baskets or hats; statues, kites and many other hand-crafted goods.
Most of the goods found at the Ubud Market are made in the neighbouring villages of Pengosekan, Tegallalang, Payangan and Peliatan. The location of the Ubud Art Market which is centred among the art producing villages, and being just opposite the royal palace which is a centre point to Ubud itself, make it a strategic shopping place for Balinese handicrafts and souvenirs.
The Ubud market also serves as a setting for the Hollywood movie Eat Pray Love, which shows a scene where actress Julia Roberts opposite a male character strolling through the stalls which are frequently visited by foreign and domestic visitors in real life. Naturally, bargaining is essential.
