🚗🚌🚉🚅Transport

Rent a car for four days to go to Great Ocean Road Total: AUD77

I take Tram and train in Melbourne City itself. We only take Uber on the last day because we are too lazy to carry our luggage up and down.

You will need to purchase MYKI card before taking Tram and Train. You can purchase it at skybus booth outside the airport. It’s AUD 15 for one ticket. There’s already credit inside the card. It only costs AUD 8.60 per day and you can take as many time you want. It’s even cheaper during weekend which only costs AUD 6.30 for the whole day. (There’s the price list in the photo album)

You can also get MYKI at 7-11. You can either top up at 7-11 or the machine at the station. It’s very convenient because you can also check your balance at the machine at the station. You don’t need to worry that you don’t have enough credit in your card because you can still ride on it even though your balance is negative. It will immediately minus it at the next time you top up. This is the benefit of Australia, they trust you. However, there’s a lot of Asian did not scan their card when they got down from the Tram. I was quite speechless.

*If you want to go to Melbourne City straight from the airport, the most convenient way is to take Skybus which only cost AUD 19 per ticket for Adult. Skybus will go straight to the city at Southern Cross Station from the airport. (Can also be said that it is the main station of bus and subway)

Once you reach Southern Cross Station, you can just take tram or walk to your hotel

📱Sim Card

I used OPTUS prepaid card in Melbourne AUD20 12GB Data, SMS Unlimited + 200mins call

We used for two, the network is super smooth and it didn’t even reach the limit on our last day..Because there’s WiFi in the Airbnb or hotel so it will be enough.
