Million thanks to BenakaJes环游世界梦想之旅 for sharing her travel story with us ❤️ Next time when you're in South Korea, other than hot spots like Seoul, Busan, or Jeju, add the little traditional Korean town of Jeonju in your itinerary, you'll be welcomed with a different side of Korea! 🇰🇷

We went to South Korea for 10 days, and this is my 5th time to Korea too!! 😂😂 Don't judge me, I really love Korea, especially Seoul! The reason my friend and I went for this trip is mainly for shopping! Aside from Seoul, we also spent 3 days 2 nights in Jeonju, but because there's too much photos to share in total, so I've separated our Jeonju and Seoul trip into 2 different posts.

Jeonju is a city located at the west side of South Korea. The city is known for the Jeonju Hanok Village, home to traditional houses, craft stores, and food stalls. In the village's Gyeonggijeon Shrine you can find the portrait of the former king of Seoul. There's also the Jeonju Korean Traditional Wine Museum displaying local rice wine making steps (we did tried the rice wine, it taste like sweetened herbal tea😂😂, and a small bottle cost 3,000 won).

One of the must-visit of Jeonju is definitely Omokdae, a hundreds year old mountaintop gazebo where you can look down the Hanok Village. But in reality the scenery was mostly blocked by trees 🌳, so personally it was pretty meh for me! Jeonju is known for the Hanok Village, so of course you must try out a Hanok experience! One of the specialty for the Hanok is their underground heating system, so you won't feel cold at all at night. Apparently the Koreans love to sit on the floor during meals, and sleep on the floor at night, so that's why the underground heating system helps them in keeping warmth during colder days. The best thing about this heating system is that it not only keeps you warm in winter, but it also keeps you cold in summer. 😂😂 You can also get to experience traditional Korean lifestyle and try out local Korean foods in this village, such as JeonJu's flagship cuisine Bibimbap, super delicious and highly recommended!!

All in all Jeonju is a pretty chill, cozy place, suitable for a short honey moon with your significant others! While the place is not that big, but the good thing is that it is relaxing! Also, a traditional Korean Hanbok rental here is just 10,000 won per hour, or 20,000 won for 3 hours, including head dresses and handbags! So much more cheaper than renting in Seoul!

3D2N Itinerary↘ Because we chose to visit Jeonju on our first day of South Korea Trip, so we straightaway took a rapid bus as soon as we arrived at Incheon Airport (but it still took more than 3 hours to arrive 😅) Fee↝31,000 won (Rm 120+-), then we took high-speed train back from Jeonju to Seoul, fee↝34,000 won (Rm 130+-). There's of course other cheaper choices, like taking the Jeonbuk Bus, same day round trip at 10,000 won, or different day round trip at 20,000 won. The bus depart at Gwanghwamun station at 8.00am, and it's only on Friday to Sunday only. But because we chose to leave from airport to Jeonju, so taking the rapid bus is more convenient. *Note that it's also only on Friday to Sunday, and first come first serve basis*

We chose our Hanok stay through Airbnb, I mean we have to experience at least once when we're here! 3 days 2 nights stay for RM406, the room can accommodate 2 persons, it's pretty nice and clean, just that the wash room is a bit too small 😅😅 Good thing is that we're both tiny people 😅😅 Fee↝ Rm 406

Eating wise is much more individualized, if you chose to try out every single stall of course it will cost more. The cheapest you can get here is about 3,000 won (RM 12+-) to 5,000 won. And in this 3D2N we spent about 100,000 won per pax, but it's totally worth it for the delicious Bibimbap! Some other notable mentions include rice wines, Kongnamul bap (bean sprout rice), and green tea latte!

Recommended Restaurants:

1) Gyodong Korokke: Amazing Bibimbap and BBQ, also friendly owner, very nice 4.5/5

2) Damun Restaurant: Large portion, located inside a tiny street, chill environment, but the foods are nothing special , so-so 3/5

3) Dawoorang Dumpling: A pretty famous dumpling shop, located at a crowded street, there's usually lines waiting to buy the dumpling, pretty good, worth a try 4/5
