Located on the north tip of Okinawa's main island is Daiesekirinzan, a tourist attraction that offers views of the world's northernmost tropical karst landscape formed from limestone over 250 million years ago.

In the vastness of nature, you can lay your eyes on a spectacular view of this precious landform and the flora and fauna that inhabit it, enriching your heart and soul.

Enjoy the unique view of sheer rocks clustered together after millions of years of erosion from the wind and rain. There are four trekking courses spread out across the expansive terrain of the facility. Visitors can trek across these mountains that have nurtured life for millennia and experience the mystical energy found there.

The northern part of Okinawa’s mainland known as ‘Yanbaru’, is a treasure trove of nature and home to one of the largest forests in Japan. Daisekirinzan is located in Yambaru National Park’s ‘special protection area’ where you will find plants and animals that can only be found here. The ‘Daisekirinzan Guided Tour’ led by a professional English speaking tour guide will carefully introduce you to the origins of Yanbaru’s wildlife through the observation of the flora and fauna. There is also a ‘Spiritual Guided Tour’ where you can experience Okinawa’s deep appreciation of nature first-hand by visiting sites of worship and places of legend.

(Tours are available by reservation only).

All of the trekking courses are easy to walk and there is also a wheelchair accessible course, so it can be enjoyed by all ages. What’s more, there is also the Okinawa Stone Museum (free entrance) on the premises, which has rocks collected from various places around Okinawa along with folk-art tools made of stone on display that you can see and touch while enjoying learning about how Okinawa's islands came to be. There is also a restaurant where you can rest and enjoy some Okinawan food.
