Okinawa, located at the southern tip of Japan and consisting of about 160 islands, is a place where unique natural environments and traditional cultures have been cultivated. One of the best places to experience the charm of Okinawa all squeezed into one place, is "Okinawa World", located about 30 minutes by car from Naha Airport.
Within the park, you will find "Gyokusendo," one of the largest limestone caves in Japan, where you can enjoy a mysterious underground world created by nature over a span of 300,000 years.
Don't miss the "Super Eisa," an adaptation of the traditional Okinawan art of Eisa. Watch the dynamic dance performance, and delight as the rhythm of the drums make your heart dance.
Other attractions include the "Ryukyu Kingdom Castle Town," where old Ryukyu houses line the streets, and the "Tropical Orchards," where you can enjoy the rare fruits, flowers, and seasonal scents. Don’t miss out on the “Habu Museum Park”, with its habu — a venomous snake found only on the islands of Okinawa, as well as various other unique creatures. You can also explore the castle town area in the ornate traditional costume worn only by the warrior families of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
If you go to "Okinawa World," you should also visit "Valley of Gangala," an ancient valley formed by the collapse of a limestone cave hundreds of thousands of years ago, situated opposite to Okinawa World. Walk through its lush forest and caves with a dedicated guide. To enter the valley, visitors must take a guided tour, so book at least one day in advance to avoid disappointment. There is a cave cafe open only to tour-goers at the starting point of the guided tour, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning natural lounge before the tour starts.
